Government Takeovers

It appears that we are going down the path of socialized medicine. The US has the best health care system in the world. Based on competition and innovation that can lead to not only prosperity for the innovators, but beneficial for patients as well.

So, we are going to destroy that. Why don't we just have goverment take over the grocery stores and the the oil companies? Just like the ran things in the Soviet Union. Remember the images of Russian in bread lines and waiting for fuel that was in short supply. Gee wonder what happened to all of those swine flu shots the government promised. I bet that all of the high ranking politicians have had their chance at a flu shot. Bet that they will be well fed under government ownership of the food distribution system or that they will have fuel for their vehicles.

Health care is not broken. If you work a 40 hour per week job, health insurance is usually covered. Sure, we have some problems with excessive lawsuits, lack of competition for insurance companies, lack of portability across state lines, the inability of small businesses to group together for better rates.

Rationing and government control is not the answer.

Wake Up America.

SEIU Sending The US Down

I could not agree more with Glen Beck's take on what the Unions, and in particular the SEIU are doing to this country. See the video here

Where in the Constitution does it say that government has to provide health care, bailouts for businesses, cash for clunkers, stimulus for greedy campaign donors, funds to end innocent human life? Where does it all end? Vote the fools who support this unlawful use of private funds for their own use out of office in 2010.

P.S. As a disclaimer, I am a forced contributor to the SEIU. I do not have the right to refuse to have my own hard earned dollars used against me. This is America?

Sarah Palin's Interview with Sean Hannity

I agree with Sarah Palin on most every issue. If I thought she could win a high level national office and had the credentials necessary to serve effectively I would not hesitate to support her.

So here is my attempt at copying a video script from the recent interview with Sean Hannity.

Carl Levin - a.k.a. Porky Pig

Unfortunately for Michigan we have two Senators that are total pigs when it comes to taking and spending other people's hard earned dollars. The first is Carl Levin, who is bought and paid for by the unions and every other leftist group in the country. So, I made a caricature of what I think of Carl Levin, a.k.a. Porky Pig. The second is Debbie Stabenow, whom also looks like a fat pig. No wonder her husband paid for sex with a hooker. We shall call her Miss Piggy. It is not even worth the time to try to communicate with these two.

Rot In Hell - George Tiller

Here is the face of evil - well it was until somebody mercifully took out Dr. George Tiller, Late Term Abortionist, in Kansas. The world is a better place without him. Just think, tomorrow those babies who had appointments with "Dr." Tiller the baby killer may live to see their birthdays. No more getting scissors stuck into their brains and being deprived of life. Meanwhile, Dr. "Baby Killer" will have his judgement day.
Yeah sure it is extreme that this man had to be murdered to save more innocent lives. However, as in the scene from "Dances With Wolves" after the soldiers are ambushed at the creek by the Indians it was said that "It was a good thing that the soldiers were killed". Just like with Saddam Hussein, the day they hanged him the world became a better place, same with Hitler, or Pol Pot. They all were cold blooded killers, just like Dr. Tiller.
All venom aside, who are we to decide who lives and dies among the innocent? Should we kill off all of the little girls in the name of protecting the earth from overpopulation? Should it be the boys who could be blamed for war, or even those whose I.Q. is just not quite high enough?
Dr. Tiller had the blood of many babies on his hands and I will not shed one tear for him. Sixty-seven years is infinitely more time than his victims had on earth.
ROT IN HELL - GEORGE TILLER!!!

Slippery Slope

I know it has been a while since I last posted. Since my last post I have visited the Land of Enchantment. No, not the place where government dollars rain down on the downtrodden like a monsoon rainstorm and wealth is redistributed from producers to whomever has ever been aggrieved or suppressed. It was actually New Mexico, and it was nice to get away.

Things have not changed much since I left. We still have the Obama moron in the White House. We still have the hear no evil, speak no evil and see no evil triplets in Barney Frank, Christopher Dodd and Charles Schumer in Congress.

Let's see, Barney Frank saw no troubles with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that would require regulation. Chucky Schumer never met a TV camera he could not use for pandering to the liberal masses. And last but not least in the stupidity department is Christopher Dodd from Connecticut. Who would have thunk that the biggest recipient of campaign cash from AIG would slip a clause into the bailout that allowed them to use the federal bailout for bonuses. Then he denied it, then he tried to pin it on somebody else. Obama got a big pot of change from AIG too didn't he. Wonder why the indignant dope signed something that had a clause that allowed AIG to do what they did. Did he read what he was signing or was he bowling, selecting his teams for the NCAA pool or perhaps appearing on Jay Leno? Wonder if he had his teleprompters with him and it said "pay no attention to the clause that allows government bailout money for bonuses -just sign it"?

Now congress has become upset over the AIG bonuses and are going to tax AIG employees and others who receive such bonuses at 90%. I thought that the purpose of taxes was to raise money so that government could build roads, schools, bridges or just generally run the government. Look out, when it becomes acceptable to use selective confiscatory taxation against a group or individuals for punishment we open up Pandora's box. Who will be next to suffer the wrath of the federal government run amok?

Here is a little cartoon that shows Christopher Dodd for what he really is.

Here comes the Porker

Is there any doubt that the "Porkulus Bill" is filled with "perks" for democratic supporters? Unions, radical environmental groups, ACORN, the list could go on and on. I do agree with John McCain that this is intergenerational theft. I get the same canned answer from the looney liberal Senators from Michigan (Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow) that you hear Obama spouting over and over like a mantra. Spending a trillion dollars of taxpayers dollars is the only way to solve the economic crisis. Meanwhile, local economies will be drained as taxpayers have to send even more to Washington. Just hope that your local community sees some $$ coming back. BTW where was Obama while much of Kentucky was without power after the local ice storm. Flying over at high altitude on his way from Indiana to Florida to push his theft plan. Here is an article from an expert which further underscores the debt problem.

Here Comes the Monstrosity

Even though most Americans oppose the "Porkulus Bill" , Congress and Barack Obama are determined to ram it down our throats. To learn more about what this bill does and doesn't do (hint: it is not a stimulus bill) see this link. I have sent e-mails to one of my State Senators and found that Debbie Stabenow is a big spending liberal - not a big surprise. Senator Carl Levin - D, Michigan is just as worthless.

Well, let's look at how well Michigan's big tax increase in October of 2008 helped it's economy. Here is the unemployment rate in Michigan as of November 2008. With a 9.6% unemployment rate Michigan is dead last in terms of employment percentage. Notice too who is number 3, another big spending state - California. Michigan's unemployment rate continued to soar in December hitting 10.6% and we are still number one.

All of those extra dollars flowing to Lansing are now dollars that citizens cannot spend on food, fuel, clothing, shelter and if they are lucky a little something for themselves. Is there a parallel with the "Porkulus Bill"? You bet there is. Where will the trillion dollars come from to pay for all of the waste and pork in this bill? It will come from you, me, your neighbor and everyone else who pays taxes. What could we do with the estimated $10,000 dollars that each man, woman and child will owe that are going to Washington, D.C. for dog parks, frisbee golf courses, hybrid golf carts, sex education and a slew of wasteful projects that will not do anything to stimulate the economy? The Congressional Budget Office has estimated that many of these dollars will not even be spent by the year 2010.

Meanwhile the national debt will be continuing to climb. For every minute that passes the U.S. debt is increasing by over $750,000(or almost a million dollars a minute). If you do not believe it check this out

Though I do not have children I have nephews and nieces. I feel for their pain when the bills come due. This "Porkulus Bill" will not stimulate the economy as proven by history. There is probably nothing we can do about it until 2010 - the next round of elections. Republicans need to remember these days during the next election.

What to call the "Stimulus" Plan?

What do we call this huge bailout plan that is really a socialist plan for America? "Porkulus" as Rush Limbaugh does, "The European Socialist Plan" as Sean Hannity has labeled it? Well, whatever the name, it is a monstrosity.

A billion dollars here and a billion dollars there and sooner than later you end up with a trillion dollars. How do you cut taxes for people who do not pay taxes? How will funding STD research really stimulate the economy? Do you realize that there is a huge wad of cash in the stimulus bill to build new Milwaukee schools? Yes, I agree that our children need to have a good environment in which to learn. However, realize that the number of children going to Milwaukee's schools is declining, and that even the local school board acknowledges that new schools are not needed.

Watching the first couple of weeks of the Obama administration is like watching a nervous teenage boy struggle to get his girlfriend's bra off for the first time. Can January 20, 2013 come soon enough, or can we get rid of Obama and the rest of the socialists before then? There is the 2010 election just around the corner. It may be that our only hope to marginalize Obama is to surround him with conservatives who will check his march toward socialism.

Here is an excellent article posted by the Heritage Foundation on why stimulus plans do not work. To sum it up, taking tax dollars out of the private sector to give to the government to spend does not create wealth - it is only redistribution. Where have we heard that redistribution term before?

Debbie Stabenow and Censorship

It would appear that Senator, Debbie Stabenow , D-Michigan, would like to push the "Censorship Doctrine". See the attached link to an article on her appearance on the Bill Press Show. If you value freedom of speech, Senators such as Debbie Stabenow need to be stopped. I encourage you to call her Washington, DC office at 202-224-4822. Please be civil even if you are talking to a liberal staffer. Also, know that Stabenow is supporting the awful stimulus package which will soon be voted on in the Senate. If you really want to understand how bad this bill is see the article on National Review.

Call Senator Stabenow's Office at 202-224-4822 and let her know that you oppose her efforts to censor talk radio and that the Stimulus Bill needs to fail.

The Politics of Pork

How will the bloated pork bill making its way through the Senate create jobs? Three hundred million dollars for sex education, 20 million for sod at the National Mall, millions for dog parks, mob museums. It may have snowed on DC recently, but the citizens of this country are getting a snow job. One group which is helping to expose the government waste is the Council of Citizens against Government Waste . To top that all this rush to spend trillions of dollars this is not a job stimulus bill, this is a payback for support of the democrats in the last election. Money to ACORN, money to the unions and for those who do not pay taxes. Re-distribution of wealth from those who work to earn a living to those looking for a handout plain and simple. I believe that Margaret Thatcher said it best about socialism -

"The problem with Socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money."

Gotta Read This

Obviously there can be no disagreeing with the BO administration. Check this out http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/01/23/obama-quit-listening-rush-limbaugh-want-things/

I thought that this was a democracy not a monarchy or dictatorship.

History Repeats Itself

In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problems; government is the problem.” This was a part of Ronald Reagan's inaugural address in 1981 and should be a part of the address tomorrow.

It will be a snowball's chance in hell of that happening. BO believes that big government will solve our problems. Yea right, just like social security, medicare, welfare, a future of socialized medicine, our public education system and so many other ways that government wastes our tax dollars.

Funny, that we do not blame the people who helped to create the financial mess we are in. That would be Representatives Barney Frank and Chris Dodd who are both on the House Banking Committee. Guess who got the most campaign contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? Guess who looked the other way while Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac cooked the books and failed to follow federal loan regulations? Guesss who also got large contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac - hint his initials are BO.

Remember the date, January 20, 2013, that will be BO's last day in office. Unless of course BO manages to really screw up and get himself run out of office before then.

P.S. I believe that conservatives should treat BO for the next four years exactly the same way that liberals treated GWB.

Where do the bailouts end? Banks, auto manufacturers, newspapers, State Governments, financial firms and other entities have either received a bailout or have been mentioned for a bailout. What used to be called an earmark is now called an economic stimulus package.

Government has thrown money around like they can just print more. Oh they do print the money, but what is it worth and whose pocket do they pick to spread the wealth around? Of course the good old taxpayer gets the shaft. Nothing like paying for votes which is essentially what the democrats are trying to do. Make people feel like they are getting something for nothing. "Those evil rich people do not pay enough in taxes. Let's take their money and give it to some poor people". Same for the greedy corporations and small businesses. Never mind that these companies make products which make out lives better or that they employ people or even give money to charity. Greedy unions will expect that their support for democrats will be rewarded with handouts - I mean stimulus packages. We have opened pandora's box and this cycle will not cease until the economy collapses.

We are all going to pay in the end. Our taxes will skyrocket, inflation will spiral out of control and over taxed companies that have to compete in foreign and domestic markets will fail. Do not even get me started on the fact that the domestic auto manufacturers are living on borrowed time. Their cars are shoddy and they do not make what consumers want. They prefer to push the big ticket vehicles that people cannot afford to buy, let alone fill with gas - because the price of gas will go up - again.

This massive debt load will be left to future generations. Social security will be bankrupt, medicare and medicaid will need ever more tax dollars.

We are in a heap of trouble and I am afraid that our government leaders either do not know it or do not care. Heck, they will be long gone before the bills come due.

Looting the People

Just a quick post. This pretty much sums up what will be happening in the first 100 days of an Obama administration.

Global Warming Hoax

Conservative Friends:

I sincerely believe that man made global warming or as some may call it climate change, may be the greatest hoax perpetrated on mankind since those who tried to convince all that the earth was flat. Well, we all know how that turned out. Socialists and liberals have found in global warming the ultimate key to controlling all aspects of society.

In the name of saving the planet from global warming, legislation can be enacted to dictate the size of families, the size of homes , the type and size of cars, the maximum distance to work that you can commute, the types of appliances one can use, the requirement that everyone recycle or compost materials and even the temperature at which you keep your home or hot water heater. Private property rights can be taken away in the name of saving the earth. This is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

Industry standards can be established for just about everything from washers and dryers to dishwashers, televisions, radios, computers and the list goes on and on. Things that make our lives better such as washers and dryers could even be banned if they are deemed a threat to the environment. Motorized forms of recreation can be banned in the name of saving the earth. Government money can be doled out to "green" companies but not to those deemed to be too dirty. Do not doubt that these things can happen. See the phasing out of the incandescent light bulb, CAFE standards for vehicles or even the State of California Legislators who proposed giving government control of thermostats in homes. Tax policies can be enacted to penalize those who are labeled "not green". Think about how easy it is to control society in the name of saving the earth and it is scary. Wake up America, this is starting to happen.

A major propaganda campaign is being waged in our schools which have become indoctrination centers for children, through the media which is a mouthpiece for global warming supporters and through Hollywood movies which are subtle and sometimes not so subtle in their shilling for global warming theorists.

Fight back against the global warming alarmists with facts. Did you know that world temperatures have actually declined since 1998? That many of the cited examples of global warming in Al Gore's movie "An Inconvenient Truth" have been proven to be false? Has the earth ever warmed or cooled before? You bet it has. The cold glacial epochs were before man supposedly altered the earth's climate. The dinosaur era was much warmer than today. That over 650 leading scientists have agreed in writing that man made global warming has not been proven to exist. That censors have suppressed dissent amongst scientists and other public figures by cutting off research funding or squelching writings that do not subscribe to their world view according to global warming.

I am all for individual rights for those who choose to conserve energy or to live in a more sustainable way. However, I do not wish to give Al Gore, Barack Obama and their socialist friends the power to control my life. Check out this web page for more details on the global warming hoax http://www.skepticsglobalwarming.com/

Is this the way it works?

Republicans and conservatives need to remember how the democrats have treated them as a minority party. Partisanship is rampant in the era of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.

America's Legal System and Lawyers

I could not resist this quote describing America's legal system and its' lawyers - It's like a dog being forced to hire a tick to defend itself from the other ticks on its back trying to suck its blood. - John Hawkins.

Anyhow, there are a lot of great conservative websites out there for people fed up with the mainstream media's naked bias against all things conservative:

http://www.heritage.org/
http://www.hannity.com/
www.nationalreview.com
http://www.drudgereport.com/
www.townhall.com
young americans for freedom
national taxpayers union
americans for tax reform
national right to life
national right to work foundation
http://www.rightwingnews.com/

The list is endless, but the message is still the same, the world does not revolve around Katie Couric or even Caroline Kennedy.

Finally, I will leave this post with a link to Lee Greenwood's "Proud to be an American"

Conservatives in Exile

This is a new blog that I am starting to share my views on today's political landscape. I hope that this will grow and that others will join with me in supporting conservative principles which are:

That government is not the answer for all of our problems.
That wealth is not created by redistribution through taxation and government spending.
That the individual entreprenuer unburdened by undue government intervention is the reason that the USA has an economy that is the envy of the world.
The right to own and manage property without unreasonable intervention from government.
The right to life for the unborn.
Belief that our country guarantees the opportunity to succeed, but does not guarantee success - that is up to the individual.
That the rights of victims and society are greater than the rights of convicted criminals.
Freedom from government forced reverse discrimination in the name of racial quotas.
Belief that environmental extremism (global warming) is an ideology that seeks to manipulate social and economic behavior to conform with radical left-wing views.
Belief that society has a right to set standards for acceptible moral behavior.

There will be more added to this list later. This will form the foundation for future posts. In the future, I will provide links to sources of conservative writing and other outlets for conservative thought.

Those who share my beliefs in conservatism may be down now, but ultimately conservative ideals which have shaped this country will prevail.

Lastly a quote from Ronald Reagan - Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
